Jamie, with rescued dogs Buddy and Ellie A day in the life of our Sanctuary Dogs... Click Here for Video 1 Click Here for Video 2 Our Mission To rescue, rehabilitate and shelter dogs who have been neglected, abused, abandoned, and may have no other hope. "It's not a second chance, it's the chance they never had". We show these dogs that they can have a happy, quality life. While we can provide all of the daily care the dog receive here, it's the donations that make it possible. Jamie Wolf, Founder |

What did we do in 2008? What did we do in 2007? What did we do in 2006? While adoptions are low and home foreclosures were high, we found homes for 32 dogs in 2009. This included a large rescue of many senior dogs when their human mom and angel, passed away from Cancer. These dogs all needed medical care and some more than others. We treated them all for their eye cists and lumps and bumps, including cancer in one dog. Many were adopted out to wonderful homes and many will be with us for a while. We will care for them as long as they need us. We treated 3 dogs for the deadly Heartworm Disease, all of which turned out successfully. We spayed and neutered 29 dogs this year, both our rescues, and assisting other small rescue groups and private citizens in financing their animals' surgeries. Zeke, who was destined for death in a shelter, started out sick, and healed beautifully and after over a year, was FINALLY matched with a great family of his own, and was adopted!
New arrivals included: Saucy- She was one of the 60 dogs who lived with their sick mom. Like most of the rest, she is sweet, happy and after a few doctors visits, healthy. Finding a home for senior dogs isn’t easy, especially in these challenging times- she is still waiting for her “forever” family and will be part of ours until then.
Shine- This special girl touched our hearts instantly and her name suited her perfectly- She was happy and mellow from the day she became ours- She even got to meet SANTA for the first time and she was very lucky to have melted the hearts of the staff at TLC Animal Hospital and found her family there. Shine passed on in early 2010 and we are so grateful she had a real family with dogs, cats and kids before she moved onto the Rainbow Bridge. :) Brutus- Who, with 3 legs still ran as fast as the best of them! He was a happy go lucky guy and although he’s got some serious health issues, most of the time, he doesn’t know it! He is happily living with his loving foster family and even won a Halloween Costume Contest as a pirate!
Fozzie Bear AKA Saint- was brought to us by a very caring person who witnessed him get hit by more than one car on Federal Hwy! Dr Dooley at TLC repaired his broken leg 3 times but saint was so determined to walk and romp, he kept on damaging it! We finally decided amputation was the best way to get him healed and out of RECOVERY! Well, it was a great decision and now he has a family of his own (see "success stories" page) and can romp and run with all the big boys!
There are countless others who were either mean, old, sick, aggressive, unadoptable, who we lovingly took in, rehabilitated and have literally turned their lives around! We can learn so much from the simplicity of animals who truly do live in the moment. There’s no other way to explain how a dog who has had a life filled with mistrust and abuse, can love and trust a human again, and so fully. We will always have a special place in our hearts for you- those extra special dogs, when we meet the next “unadoptable dog”- we think of you and always will. These are the special dogs that remind us that "YES WE CAN." We built our BEAUTIFUL sanctuary for the “lifers” who now spend their days with freedom, running, hiking, and stress FREE! AND, they no longer bite! :) ![]() ![]()
Our MUTTS and SAKITINIS party was a GREAT success and a really fun time! The support we got from the community was amazing and we raised over $2000 which really helped our medical bill tremendously! PLUS, it was a fantastic time! Thanks so much for the support! How You Can Help There are many ways you can help our dogs: Make a cash donation to help pay for veterinary expenses, or even sponsor a dog's care completely. Donate a gift card to some of our favorite stores (see our “wish list” on our site). Sponsor a particular dog in our care- some dogs have been with us for months and even years before they are ready or adopted. By sponsoring a dog, we will send you regular updates on their status including photos and even visitation if you like! Post flyers of our adoptable dogs in your lunchroom or office and help spread the word that adoption is the answer! Don't EVER buy or support pet stores! No breeder who cares about their pets will sell to pet stores. It's a fact. Pet Stores promote greed and pain. Simple as that! This year, more than ever, our few volunteers and friends have changed the WORLD for our dogs! They have put off work, life and truly been selfless in their mission to help dogs in need! NONE of what we do can be accomplished without you! Heartfelt thanks to you: Alex, Jennifer, John, Tori, Melissa, Lisa and the many others who have found that dog on the street, and simply stepped up to help, if even once. You are special!
